Is there a regulation in Malaysia for tint specification?
A

Yes, there is a control of VLT (Visible Light Transmission) regulated by JPJ (Road Transport Department) Malaysia.

The limitation is only on the Front Windscreen (FWS) and the Front Row driver (R1) & Passenger (L1) side windows.

JPJ regulation states that the limitation for FWS is 70% while R1 & L1 is 50%

How to choose window film?
A

It you are looking for durability with top-notch heat rejection and no radio frequency interference, our Nano-Ceramic Tint Film is the best choice for you.

We have 2 product range for you to choose from: N-Series & C-Series.

If you spend long time of driving (over 2 hours/day) and park under the sun most of the time,  our N-Series with over 95% IR Rejection is the best choice that comes with a premium heat rejection.

If you spend less driving hours and parked your car indoor, C-Series is a smart selection that is cost savvy while it delivers a solid heat rejection performance.

What is IR blocking?
A

Infrared Rays (IR) make up 53% of the sun’s radiation energy, with wavelengths ranging from 780–2500nm.

ICE COOL’s N-Series blocks an average of 95% of the entire IR wavelengths. Unlike other brands that offer high IR rejection, but in fact, it is just a rejection of a fraction of the IR wavelength.

What is solar radiation blocking?
A

Solar radiation is the reason why you feel hot under the sunlight.  Solar Radiation includes Infrared Rays (IR), UV (Ultra-Violet), and Visible Lights (VL). ICE COOL N-Series products rejects most IR, UV & VL of the solar radiation, making it our flagship product with top-tier premium quality.

Why window film gets bubbling?
A

Some products in the market use adhesive layers with volatile solvents that would vaporize easily when heated. If a car is installed with such a product and parked under sunlight for long hours, such exposure would vaporize the solvent and eventually cause the film to bubble.  ICE COOL does it differently, using non-toxic, high-grade Optical Clear Adhesive to handle intense heat. This allows us to confidently provide a 5-year warranty on our product.

How many types of window films are there?
A

There are two types of window film in general: Absorptive and Reflective.

Absorptive Type absorbs heat into the material itself. Common types include Ceramic film, ATO (Antimony Tin Oxide) & IR Absorber films.

Ceramic film is the best-performing absorptive type, offering durability and the best heat insulation.

ATO (Antimony Tin Oxide) performs well in handling far-IR but is weak when dealing with near-IR.

IR Absorber film is the lowest quality of all that is made from organic compounds that degrade when exposed to sunlight. It would provide high IR Rejection up to 95% in the beginning, but would possibly degrade to 10% within a year.

Reflective Type normally uses metallic material coatings to reflect heat. The common materials used are silver, gold, and other precious metals. They have a mirror-like finish and reflect heat effectively, but also block other radio wave signals. Normally, reflective-type products are expensive and are more difficult to install.
